Job Description:
Utilizes software engineering principles to deploy and maintain fully automated data transformation pipelines that combine a large variety of storage and computation technologies to handle a distribution of data types and volumes in support of data architecture design. Designs and develops data pipelines that are resilient to change, modular, flexible, scalable, reusable, and cost effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure Fabric).
- Utilize Azure data storage accounts (Azure Data Lake Storage Gen 2, Azure Blob Storage).
- Use SQL DML to query modern RDBMS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Work with PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI.
- Work with REST APIs and OAuth.
- Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources.
- Ensure data quality and integrity.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies.
- Manage CI/CD processes for data solutions.
- Work with programming languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Python (good to have).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8–10 years of experience in Data Engineering or ETL processes.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Blob Storage, Data Lake Gen2).
- Strong SQL skills (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Understanding of software engineering principles (CI/CD, version control, testing).
- Experience with data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Learning agility
- Experience querying API endpoints
- Understanding of Azure environment (subscriptions, resource groups)
- Experience with Git workflows
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and repositories
- Knowledge of Ansible in Azure DevOps pipelines
