Title: Azure Data Architect (Manager)

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to join the Canada Talend League (CTL) in a Manager-grade Individual Contributor role. This position requires a strong blend of architecture and hands-on data engineering expertise, with a focus on designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions on Azure.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures on Azure.
Act as a hands-on Data Engineer, building and optimizing data pipelines and ingestion frameworks.
Create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents and ensure data quality and lineage.
Develop and optimize data models, including dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Provide solution architecture and design recommendations for client engagements.
Contribute to and support RFP/proposal development, including solution design and estimations.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
Troubleshoot and optimize performance of on-premise and cloud data warehouses.
Drive best practices and standards across the CTL practice and mentor junior engineers.
Ensure robust data governance, security, and compliance in all solutions.
Required Skills & Expertise
Strong experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Databricks).
Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles and hybrid/on-prem integration.
Proficiency in dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
Should have good implementation experience on Lakehouse architecture.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Git, etc.).
Solid SQL And Programming Skills (Python/Scala Preferred).
Proven ability in performance tuning and troubleshooting large-scale data systems.
Experience working directly with clients, including requirement gathering and solutioning.
Knowledge of streaming technologies (e.g., Event Hub, Kafka) and real-time processing.
Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Azure Architect) preferred.
