Job Description: Cloud Migration Architect
Role Summary
The Cloud Migration Architect leads the end to end design, planning, and execution strategy for migrating applications, data, and infrastructure from on premises environments to Azure. The role focuses on defining migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor), assessing application landscapes, designing cloud ready architectures, and guiding teams through migration waves and cutovers. Working closely with application owners, infra teams, security, and program leadership, the architect ensures that workloads are migrated securely, efficiently, and in alignment with Azure best practices and enterprise governance.

Key Responsibilities
- Define migration strategies and patterns (rehost, replatform, refactor) for applications and workloads moving to Azure.
- Lead cloud readiness assessments, dependency mapping, and migration planning for large application portfolios.
- Design Azure based architectures for migrated workloads, including compute, networking, identity, storage, and PaaS services.
- Collaborate with application teams to modernize workloads using Azure App Services, AKS, Functions, APIM, and integration services.
- Develop migration wave plans, cutover strategies, and execution playbooks.
- Work with infra and platform teams to ensure landing zones, networking, identity, and security are migration ready.
- Provide architectural oversight during migration execution, resolving blockers and ensuring alignment with standards.
- Support data migration planning and integration with Azure SQL, Managed Instance, or other cloud databases.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for security, compliance, performance, and cost optimization.
- Produce architecture documents, migration blueprints, and technical guidance for delivery teams.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in cloud architecture, migration design, or enterprise solution architecture.
- Strong expertise in Azure services: App Services, AKS, Functions, APIM, Storage, Networking, Identity.
- Hands on experience with large scale application and infrastructure migrations to Azure.
- Deep understanding of migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor) and assessment frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, governance, RBAC, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
- Experience with dependency mapping, application discovery, and migration tooling.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
- Ability to guide cross functional teams through migration waves and cutovers.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience with data migration tools (DMS, SSIS, ADF).
- Knowledge of container platforms (AKS, OpenShift) and microservices modernization.
- Exposure to FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
- Experience with hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN, private endpoints).
- Azure certifications (AZ 305, Architect Expert, AZ 400).
- Experience in large data center exit or multi cloud migration programs.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
TCS Eligibility Criteria: *BE/B.tech/MCA/M.Sc./MS with minimum 3 years of relevant IT-experience post
