About The Role
The Azure Cloud Engineer at Pellera Technologies is a pivotal role within our Cloud Services and Managed Services department. This position involves designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform. The engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of our clients’ cloud environments, ensuring seamless operations in a managed services context. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Azure Cloud Engineer will deliver high-quality cloud solutions that align with both business and customer objectives. This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Azure infrastructure, security, and automation, contributing to the ongoing success of our cloud offerings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of five years of overall IT experience, with at least three years focused specifically on Microsoft Azure, is required. Relevant certifications such as AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate are preferred, with additional certifications like AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer and AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert considered advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of cloud architecture, security, and automation tools, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Experience working within a managed services or MSP environment is highly desirable, along with familiarity with multi-tenant environments and FinOps principles.
Responsibilities
The Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for a diverse set of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Monitoring and managing service requests, incidents, and change management activities in accordance with SLAs and operational procedures.
- Providing advanced L2/L3 technical support for Azure-based environments, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Participating actively in incident response, escalation procedures, and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Maintaining proactive communication with internal teams and clients regarding service status, risks, and ongoing issues.
- Designing, deploying, and maintaining Azure infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS components, following best practices for security and scalability.
- Implementing and managing identity, security, and governance solutions such as Azure AD, RBAC, PIM, and policies.
- Optimizing cloud environments for performance, cost efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Supporting onboarding processes for new environments and customers into our managed services portfolio.
- Collaborating with architecture, security, and application teams to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
- Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to ensure operational consistency.
- Continuously evaluating new Azure features and recommending improvements to existing environments.
- Participating in on-call rotations and supporting after-hours activities as needed.
