The Legal Recruiting and Professional Development/CLE Assistant will provide support to the LR&PD team. This position will assist with the full cycle law student recruitment process, planning and delivery of attorney development training programs, ensuring compliance and obtaining accreditation for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements for all firm attorneys and Axinn sponsored programs. Additionally, the following essential functions are key components of this role.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Legal Recruiting

  • Assist with the full-cycle law student recruitment process
  • Process registrations and arrange logistics and materials for on-campus interview programs
  • Coordinate interview schedules for candidates, prepare interview materials and collect interview evaluations
  • Assist with coordination of summer program; plan/attend events as needed
  • Maintain and update candidate information in Legal Recruitment Database
  • Assist with recruiting team, candidate and summer associate travel arrangements

Professional Development and Continuing Legal Education (CLE)

  • Work with Coordinator/Manager to onboard all attorney new hires, help set orientation schedules
  • Oversee the CLE database, add new hires, provide monthly progress reports to all attorneys/admins
  • Develop and maintain a process for obtaining CLE accreditation for our in-house training programs for various states (including NY) in which our attorneys are admitted
  • Assist with attorney training programs across the firm, including large-scale programs, skills-based workshops, practice-specific sessions, individual training classes, and one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Support the CLE process and training programs within our internal CLE tracking software, including setting up, monitoring and tracking programs and individual attorney credits within those systems. Regularly evaluate CLE procedures, processes, and workflows; recommend and execute changes as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • BA/BS degree or 2 years of directly equivalent experience (as an acceptable substitution for the degree)
  • Prior professional services or law firm experience highly preferred with at least one year of administrative support experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • General knowledge of office equipment and tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, Google Doc, Excel, viEval, LawCruit, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools, like Net Doc.
  • Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Some travel will be required.
  • The ability to work independently but within a team environment.

Position Details

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $36.00 – $41.00 hourly (the upper range reserved for highly qualified applicants). This position is currently available in our DC and NY office location only.
