JD:
The AWS Cloud SME will lead the end-to-end delivery of AWS cloud solutions, from initial assessment and planning through design, implementation, migration, and ongoing L3/L4 support. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong customer engagement skills, and the ability to manage complex cloud transformation projects aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities: -
- Conduct comprehensive application and infrastructure assessments to identify tasksand define cloud adoption strategies.
- Execute cloud solution planning and architecture design that meets scalability, security, performance, and cost objectives on AWS.
- Manage AWS Landing Zones using AWS Control Tower, Service Catalog, and Guardrails. Implement multi-account strategies using AWS Organizations, SCPs, and IAM permissions.
- Work with Architects on global network connectivity as per AWS Best practices using AWS Cloud WAN, including segment creation, policy management, and integration with existing VPCs and Transit Gateways
- Drive the implementation and migration of enterprise workloads to AWS using best practices and relevant migration strategies like “7R”
- Should be adapt in implementing organizational change management and cloud adoption frameworks like AWS CAF and ensure technical excellence in deployed workloads using AWS Well Architected Framework.
- Execute cloud solutions that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and reliability across multiple regions and availability zones.
- Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance controls.
- Document Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, including backup, replication, and failover mechanisms.
- Provide advanced L3/L4 support and troubleshooting for AWS cloud environments post-migration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud architectures with existing IT systems.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Mentor and guide delivery teams and clients on cloud architecture and operations.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements throughout the cloud journey.
- Drive automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) in delivery processes.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Familiarity with multi-cloud strategies and hybrid cloud environments. Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud architectures
- Hands-on experience in Design and implementation of AWS Cloud WAN and AWS global network architecture.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.)
- Understanding of industry standards (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in AWS Well-Architected Framework assessment of Cloud Infra across the five pillars: Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization
- Hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, Private Link, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at L3/L4 support levels.
- Experience with automation and scripting (Terraform, Python).
- Proficiency in security, and compliance in cloud environments with AWS services and encryption best practices (AWS Security Hub, AWS Inspector AWS Guard Duty AWS WAF, AWS Shield).
