About the role
We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Server Administrator to design, build, and operate scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and automated deployment pipelines. You will bridge development and operations by automating server provisioning, maintaining system reliability, and optimizing AWS resources for high availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities
● Infrastructure management: Provision, configure, and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB, and Route 53 using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation). Maintain reusable IaC modules and version control.
● CI/CD operations: Build, operate, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools. Automate build, test, and deployment workflows across environments (dev/test/stage/prod).
● System administration: Administer Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows servers; apply security patches, manage OS-level configuration, perform backups and recovery, and resolve deployment/runtime issues.
● Monitoring & incident response: Implement logging, metrics, and alerting with CloudWatch or CloudTrail or Datadog etc. Lead incident response, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve availability and MTTR.
● Security & compliance: Implement secure networking (VPC design, security groups, NACLs), IAM best practices (least privilege, roles), key management, encryption at rest/in transit, and support audits and compliance activities following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
● Cost optimization & scaling: Monitor billing and resource usage, right-size instances, implement Auto Scaling and spot/Reserved Instance strategies, and recommend architecture changes to reduce cloud costs.
● Automation & tooling: Create operational runbooks, automation scripts (Bash/Python), configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet), and tooling to streamline repetitive tasks.
● Collaboration & documentation: Work closely with developers, QA, and product teams to enable fast, reliable deliveries. Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, processes, runbooks, and deployments.
Required skills & experience
● Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, systems administration, or DevOps roles.
● Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, Route53).
● Proven IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
● Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or similar.
● Solid Linux administration skills; Windows server experience a plus.
● Proficient scripting in Bash or PowerShell.
● Monitoring and logging expertise (CloudWatch, or Prometheus/Grafana or Datadog).
● Strong knowledge of networking, security best practices, and AWS cost optimization techniques.
● Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
