AWS Data Engineer (Onsite, Varanasi)
Experience: 2–5 years
Location: Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
Type: Full-time
Preferred Certification: AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate
About the role:
We are looking for a hands-on AWS Data Engineer to join our team onsite in Varanasi. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building real data pipelines, working closely with production systems, and taking ownership end to end.
This is not a reporting-only role. We need someone who is comfortable writing SQL and Python daily, working with AWS services directly, troubleshooting data issues, and helping us build reliable data workflows for customer-facing and internal analytics use cases.
We are a startup, so every hire matters. You will work closely with leadership, get meaningful ownership, and have the opportunity to grow into a larger platform role over time.
What you will do:
Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, DMS, CloudWatch, and IAM
Write production-grade SQL and Python for ingestion, transformation, and data validation
Support data movement from operational systems into analytics-ready layers
Work on data modeling, transformation logic, and warehouse-side optimization in Amazon Redshift
Monitor pipeline health, debug failures, and improve reliability and performance
Create scheduled jobs, alerts, and basic automation around data workflows
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business data requirements
Maintain documentation for pipelines, schemas, and operational processes
Follow good engineering practices around testing, Git, and deployment discipline
Core requirements:
2–5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or backend data platforms
Strong hands-on experience with SQL
Good hands-on experience with Python
Working experience with AWS data services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Athena, or DMS
Good understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data quality checks, and warehouse concepts
Ability to independently troubleshoot pipeline and data issues
Comfortable working in an onsite startup environment with speed and ownership
Preferred qualifications:
AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate preferred
Experience with Redshift in production environments
Exposure to CI/CD, Git, and deployment workflows
Basic understanding of IAM roles, access controls, and cloud environment setup
Databricks exposure:
Databricks is not the main requirement for this role, but it is a plus if you have:
Basic exposure to Databricks, PySpark, or Spark SQL
Understanding of notebook-based data workflows and Delta/Lakehouse concepts
Experience working across AWS and Databricks environments
What we are looking for:
Someone practical and hands-on
Someone who likes solving real engineering problems, not just making dashboards
Someone reliable enough to work on critical production data flows
Someone who wants to grow with the company over the next few years
