Role Description This full-time, remote AWS Data Architect – Snowflake & AI Engineering role focuses on designing and implementing scalable cloud data solutions. The person in this role will architect end-to-end data platforms on AWS, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics, with Snowflake as a core component. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining data models, setting data governance standards, designing data warehouse and ETL/ELT pipelines, and integrating AI/ML capabilities into data ecosystems. The role also involves collaborating with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical architectures, optimizing performance and cost, and ensuring compliance, security, and data quality across environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and architect enterprise data platforms using Snowflake, Databricks, Delta Lake, and AWS.
- Build scalable batch and real-time data pipelines using PySpark, Kafka, and Spark Structured Streaming.
- Develop AI-ready data models, semantic layers, and retrieval infrastructure for RAG and LLM-based applications.
- Implement LLMOps, vector databases, and knowledge graph solutions.
- Ensure data governance, security, lineage, and performance optimization across the platform.
- Lead architecture reviews, mentor engineering teams, and drive cloud modernization initiatives.
Required Skills- 15+ years of experience in Data Engineering/Data Architecture.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Python, AWS, and Delta Lake.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI/LLMs, LangChain/LlamaIndex, OpenAI/Claude/Bedrock, and RAG architectures.
- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB, OpenSearch) and knowledge graphs (Neo4j).
- Good understanding of MLflow, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native architectures.
