Job Description
Position Title: AWS Cloud Engineer
Department: ICT

Location: REVA University Bangalore
Role Overview
The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing the cloud infrastructure that supports the university’s websites, microsites, and other academic platforms hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role focuses on ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and performance optimization of all systems running in the AWS environment. The engineer will oversee cloud architecture, implement best practices for infrastructure management, monitor system performance, and ensure reliable operations of web and application services. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with development and ICT teams to automate deployments, maintain security compliance, optimize cloud costs, and ensure uninterrupted access to digital platforms critical to university operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Design and manage AWS infrastructure
- Deploy and maintain services including:
- EC2
- RDS (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- S3
- Elastic Load Balancer
- Auto Scaling
- CloudFront
- Configure VPC, networking, and security groups. Performance & Scalability
- Ensure supports high concurrent users during exams and peak academic periods.
- Implement load balancing, caching, and scaling strategies.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
- Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor infrastructure using AWS CloudWatch and logging tools.
- Manage system alerts and incident resolution.
- Conduct regular system health checks and upgrades.
4. Security & Backup
- Implement IAM access controls and security policies.
- Manage data backups, disaster recovery, and system redundancy.
- Ensure compliance with institutional IT security standards.
5. Automation & DevOps
- Support CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or CloudFormation.
6. Required Skills
- Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services
- Linux server administration
- Database management (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Networking and security configurations
- Monitoring and logging tools
7. Preferred Skills
- Experience managing education platforms or LMS systems
- Knowledge of Docker or containerized environments
- Familiarity with DevOps practices

2–4 years in AWS cloud infrastructure management
