Description
The Director of PMO will lead and elevate project execution across Awnex by managing a team of Project Managers and implementing practical, scalable project management practices across the organization.This role is responsible for improving on-time delivery, project profitability, and cross-functional alignment across engineered-to-order manufacturing, field installations, dealer network initiatives, and internal projects. In addition to leading the PM team, this role will take direct ownership of one to two of Awnex’s highest-priority client accounts, serving as the primary project leader and ensuring successful execution and customer outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on bringing structure and discipline while maintaining speed and flexibility.
- Lead and develop the PM team, setting clear expectations and holding accountability for timelines, budgets, and results
- Own execution across the project portfolio, ensuring alignment with company priorities and successful delivery
- Directly manage 1–2 key client accounts, serving as the primary project leader and escalation point
- Drive consistency in planning, scheduling, and execution, stepping in to stabilize high-risk or off-track projects
- Implement practical PMO structure, including tools, reporting, project lifecycle stages, and resource planning
- Improve cross-functional alignment across Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Field teams
- Increase project performance, strengthening cost control, forecasting, and margin improvement
- Enhance visibility and decision-making through dashboards, reporting, and standardized data practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- PMP or equivalent certification required
- 10+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, construction, or engineered-to-order environments
- 3–5+ years leading Project Managers or project teams
- Proven track record of improving execution, delivery timelines, and profitability
- Experience managing complex, high-visibility client projects
- Strong leadership presence and accountability mindset
- Deep understanding of project financials and cost control
- Ability to bring structure to a fast-paced environment without overcomplicating processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
