About the role
Avum, Inc. is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and security focused DevSecOps Engineer who can architect cloud solutions, build CI/CD pipelines, administer containerization platforms, as well as developing or implementing various other automation tools to increase efficiency in development and infrastructure deployments and maintenance.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to pass a T5 background investigation.
NOTE: This fully remote role requires the candidate to participate in meetings virtually using tools like Microsoft Teams. Online availability during the core hours of 9 AM PST/PDT to 4 PM PST/PDT, Monday through Friday, will be required. Availability to support EST core hours as needed
Example of Activities
Architecting and deploying AWS resources (S3,Transfer Server, QuickSight, CloudWatch, EventBridge, etc.), using Terraform.
Building CI/CD pipelines for Java and Angular micro-services in Tekton
Deploy containerized micro-services in OpenShift environment
Utilize various scanner tools to identify security vulnerabilities in code, containers, and containerization platform
Administer OpenShift platform including maintenance, monitoring, server and service hardening, patching, storage administration, etc.
Building secure container images
Provide automation solutions to infrastructure and cybersecurity using tools such as but not limited to Ansible, Terraform, etc.
Required Skills
U.S. Citizen who can pass T5 background investigation
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
Self-driven, self-reliant, and highly motivated
CompTIA Linux+ certification
CompTIA Security+ certification
AWS certified in one of these certificates: SysOps Admin, Solutions Architect (associate or professional), DevOps Engineer, Advanced Networking, or Security
Experience deploying AWS solutions
Experience with OpenShift or similar containerization platforms
Experience building CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or certified in Terraform
Experience with Ansible
Experience with programming (BASH, Python, Java)
Experience or certified with OpenShift
Experience applying NIST 800-53 compliance
Experience with Appian GovCloud
Place of Performance
The candidate must interact and coordinate remotely with external project team members and other Avum employees. As a remote employee, the candidate will not have permanent office or desk space but may be required to attend in-person meetings. This may require travel to government sites in Washington, D.C., and the Avum office in Agoura Hills, California. Our priority is acquiring the most qualified candidate to satisfactorily perform the required tasks, including team collaboration, regardless of the candidate's geographical location.
Educational/Work Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in system development and is closely related to the work detailed above, and/or in a computer science, information systems, physical science, engineering or a mathematics–intensive discipline, or an applicable training certificate from an accredited training institution.
Salary
Starting salaries for this position range from $150,000 - $175,000 and are commensurate with experience. The position is full-time, salaried, with benefits.
