AVP – Telesales (Retention)

Role Overview: This is a high impact leadership role where you will lead the team building and management of a 200+ inside tele sales force tasked with retaining retailers onto our platform (Agrim Retailer App). Your mandate is simple but demanding - Lead the inside sales force to achieve monthly retention target every month while maintaining Cost of Sales (COS) discipline.
Why this role matters: This role is the heartbeat of our retention engine. Agrim’s growth depends on strong retailer engagement, consistent repeat purchase behaviour, and long-term customer relationships. This role forms the backbone of that engine, ensuring the inside sales team drives predictable, scalable retention and sustained revenue from existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale retention engine: Hire, train, and manage a large inside telesales team focused on driving repeat business and long-term retailer engagement.
- Own retailer retention targets: Drive monthly retention and repeat purchase targets, ensuring growth in active cohorts while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Design retention playbook: Create and continuously improve call strategies, engagement frameworks, and lifecycle interventions (reorders, upsell, win-back) tailored to agri-retailers.
- Drive engagement & lifecycle management: Own customer lifecycle programs including follow-ups, reorder nudges, churn prevention, and win-back campaigns.
- Run performance governance: Set up MIS, dashboards, and cohort analyses to track retention, repeat rates, order frequency, and team productivity at rep and program level.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Product, Category, and Marketing to improve customer experience, assortment relevance, and retention-led campaigns. Success Metrics
- Monthly retention rate (cohort-wise & total)
- Repeat purchase rate & order frequency.
- Revenue contribution from existing customers.
- Churn rate / win-back efficiency - Team efficiency, Shrinkage, Attrition Requirements
- 10-12 years of Inside Sales experience in sales force management in industries such as FMCG, fintech, telecom, microfinance or B2B marketplaces. - Minimum 2 years leading a team of at least 150 members as Senior Manager/AVP.
- Hands-on with data-driven sales ops (MIS, dashboards, funnel metrics)
- Strong grasp of unit economics and experience driving COS discipline.
