Role Description
Regulatory Affairs & Advocacy:
· Keep track of existing and upcoming regulations and discussion papers at CERC and SERC levels. Provide timely update to management of the same covering its likely impact on business and proposed action plans to address the key areas of concern
· Ideation with business development, IT and operations teams for improving existing products as well as design and development of new products including preparation of contract specs and business rules – coordinate internal interaction with Ops and Technology team for software updation / development
· Provide an assessment of the regulatory barriers for development of Power Markets in the country. Develop appropriate regulatory positions and advocacy response to overcome these barriers including competition and execute the advocacy plans
· Develop network and relationships across all levels at CERC and within the key SERCs in the country
· Lead the documentation, petitions, replies filed etc. with the regulatory bodies
· Interact with Legal consultants for on-going /proposed petitions and follow up with CERC for expeditious orders
· Coordination with Regulatory bodies, various Ministries, Discoms, Generators and Consultants for being on top of the regulatory developments and its impact on PXIL’s business
· Enhance regulatory awareness within the Organization as appropriate
· Provide regulatory support during Business Development activities, Operations and development of IT infrastructure
· Facilitate effective and comprehensive compliance, promote ethical conduct and adherence with regulatory requirements
Policy Analysis and Advocacy:
· Develop and implement HPX policy advocacy strategies and position for Power Markets in the country. Align with the policy and advocacy initiatives of HPX for power market development in India
· Ensuring updates on policies/acts and keep the management appraised of the same, along with impact assessment / mitigating strategies in areas of concern
· Regular interaction with the management to understand concerns over existing/proposed policies/acts and need for revisions. Provide interpretation and insights to advise the management on business positions, as relevant
· Develop relationships across various levels with relevant authorities including MOP, MNRE, SECI, CEA, FIs etc. through regular interactions
Represent the organization in formal interactions / meetings with authorities / industry associations and effectively represent the views of the organization through written and other responses
Qualifications:
Educational qualification: B.E/B.Tech & MBA in Power Management
Experience: 15 - 18 Years of Experience in Power/Energy Sector with Experience in Regulations related to Power Trading and Power Markets
