Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Avionics Systems Engineer role located in Bengaluru.
The role involves the design, development, integration, and validation of avionics systems for aerospace platforms including launch vehicles, sounding rockets, UAVs, and research systems. The engineer will be responsible for flight computers, telemetry systems, sensor integration, guidance and control interfaces, and embedded systems architecture.
Additional responsibilities include:
Designing robust avionics architectures for aerospace systems
Integrating sensors, communication modules, and control electronics
Conducting system-level testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation
Ensuring compliance with aerospace safety and reliability standards
Collaborating with propulsion, structures, and systems teams for integrated vehicle development
Supporting experimental launches and on-site test campaigns at the Edu-Bose Space Engineering Research Center
This role requires hands-on involvement in PCB design validation, embedded programming, avionics integration, and field testing.
Key Responsibilities
Design and development of onboard flight computers
Telemetry and communication system architecture
Sensor fusion and data acquisition systems
Power distribution and avionics safety circuits
Embedded firmware development (C/C++ / RTOS)
Fault detection, redundancy design, and system reliability enhancement
EMI/EMC considerations for aerospace electronics
Integration with GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Control) systems
Documentation of system requirements, test reports, and compliance documentation
Qualifications
Expertise in Avionics Systems Design and Integration
Strong knowledge of Embedded Systems and Flight Control Electronics
Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium / KiCad / OrCAD or equivalent)
Experience with communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, RS-485)
Familiarity with telemetry systems and RF communication
Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS)
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary aerospace engineering environment
Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills
Master’s or higher degree in Aerospace Engineering / Electronics / Embedded Systems or related field
Experience in aerospace R&D projects is highly preferred
