Data Entry Specialist | Remote Graduate Engineer Trainee

Avela is a Nobel Prize winning platform for families to navigate their child's educational journey. Parents can find, apply, register, and pay for school and programs for their children, all from a common application system with saved profiles. Avela also powers backend admissions and operational workflows, making it easy for schools, districts, and educational providers to equitably serve students. We're like "OpenTable for Education" or "Mindbody for Schools." Role Avela is looking for a contract data entry specialist to assist in daily updates of data. Successful candidates will be meticulous, detail-oriented, quick learners, and comfortable working with a remote team. We are looking for someone to start immediately. Responsibilities Responsibilities include the following: Export data from the Avela system to Excel CSV format Copy and paste data into Google Sheets Filter data exports Upload CSVs to Avela system and take actions as needed Proactively communicate in writing your daily progress and quickly raise inconsistencies or issues to Avela Client Services Team This work is to be completed independently, no earlier than 2 pm PT and no later than 11 pm PT each day. We expect this work to take approximately 4 hours/day, 5 days/week (Mondays-Fridays). (In the beginning, this work may at times take longer than 4 hours/day as the candidate is onboarding). Additionally, candidate should have availability twice a week for a 30-minute virtual meeting sometime between 8 am and 3 pm PT (exact days/times are flexible). We are looking for a commitment of at least 6 months for this role (there is some flexibility for time off/vacation). Priority will be given to applicants who can commit for 1 year.
