Job Role: Automotive Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 26262)
Work Experience: 7 to 12 Years
Location: Pune
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Functional Safety Engineer with strong expertise in ISO 26262 (mandatory) and safety-critical embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in functional safety lifecycle, safety analysis, and ASIL-based development, contributing to robust and compliant automotive software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive software functional safety activities across the development lifecycle in accordance with ISO 26262
- Define functional safety concepts, safety goals, safety mechanisms, and safety requirements
- Perform safety analysis activities including FMEA, DFA, FTA, and FFI
- Execute ASIL decomposition and ensure proper allocation of safety requirements
- Design and review safety-oriented software architecture for automotive ECUs
- Ensure bi-directional traceability across requirements, design, implementation, and validation
- Review MCU safety manuals and architectures from vendors such as Infineon, NXP, and Renesas
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience in software development with 5+ years in Functional Safety projects
- Strong experience in ISO 26262 compliant system and software development
- Strong programming expertise in Embedded C / C++
- Deep understanding of safety analysis techniques (FMEA, DFA, FTA, FFI)
- Hands-on experience in ASIL decomposition and safety requirement allocation
- Strong understanding of safety engineering principles and safety-oriented architecture
- Experience with Requirements Management tools (DOORS)
- Working knowledge of AUTOSAR-based systems
- Experience with MISRA C/C++ guidelines and static code analysis tools
