Automotive Cockpit Validation Engineer
Educational Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech in ECE, EEE, EIE, CSE, or related engineering disciplines.
Experience:
5-7 years of relevant experience in the Automotive domain with a strong focus on Cockpit, Infotainment, Instrument Cluster, and Connected Vehicle Systems Validation.
Technical Skills & Responsibilities:
Hands-on experience in Cockpit Validation at both vehicle and bench levels.
Strong knowledge of Infotainment feature validation, including:
Radio/Tuner: AM, FM, DAB, SXM or equivalent tuner features
Media: USB, Bluetooth Audio or equivalent media sources, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay validation
Bluetooth: pairing, connectivity, telephony, audio streaming and profile validation
Navigation, location-based services and route guidance validation
Connected Apps, App Store, Wi-Fi, hotspot, OTA and connectivity features
Strong knowledge of Cluster feature validation, including:
Warning lamps, tell-tale indicators and chime behavior
Gauges: speedometer, tachometer, fuel, temperature, power meter and related displays
Driver Information Center (DIC) and vehicle information screens
Trip computer functions including trip distance, fuel economy, range and related calculations
ADAS visual alerts, notifications and cluster warning messages
Startup/shutdown animations, tell-tale sequencing and display wake-up/sleep behavior
Experience in validating Cluster diagnostics, CAN signals, vehicle alerts, HMI interactions, and integration between Infotainment and Cluster systems.
Hands-on experience in Proxy Alignment, Proxy Configuration, Proxy Settings management, Variant Coding, Feature Configuration, and Vehicle ECU Configuration activities.
Good understanding of automotive diagnostics including ECU flashing, coding, configuration, troubleshooting, DTC analysis, and fault isolation.
Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as WiTECH, DTS Monaco, CANoe Diagnostic Console, DDT2000, ODIS, Vector VH650/VH850, or equivalent OEM diagnostic tools.
Working knowledge of diagnostics protocols such as UDS and KWP2000, vehicle communication diagnostics, and Network Management concepts.
Good knowledge of Automotive Communication Protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and FlexRay.
Hands-on experience using Vector tools including CANoe, CANalyzer, CANStress, and Vehicle Spy.
Experience in log collection, trace analysis, issue debugging, root cause analysis, defect reporting, and validation status tracking.
Experience in test automation frameworks and automation scripting would be preferred.
Additional Skills:
Knowledge of integrated cockpit systems including Infotainment, Cluster, Telematics, Connectivity, and ADAS-related user interfaces would be preferred.
Familiarity with Agile development methodology and tools such as JIRA, DOORS/DNG, RTC, and Requirement Traceability processes will be preferred.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to work effectively with global cross-functional teams and support validation activities across multiple regions.
