Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Automic Workload Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise scheduling and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Automic (formerly UC4) and a strong understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and enterprise IT environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain workflows using Automic Workload Automation (AWA).
- Monitor daily batch job execution and ensure timely completion of critical processes.
- Troubleshoot job failures, performance issues, and system errors.
- Create and maintain job documentation, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to automate processes.
- Implement scheduling best practices and optimize job performance.
- Manage Automic agents, clients, and environments (DEV, TEST, PROD).
- Handle incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
- Support upgrades, patches, and system enhancements of the Automic platform.
- Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Automic Workload Automation (UC4).
- Strong knowledge of job scheduling, batch processing, and workflow automation.
- Experience with scripting (Shell, PowerShell, or Python).
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments.
- Familiarity with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with incident and change management processes (e.g., ITIL).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating Automic with other enterprise tools (SAP, Informatica, etc.).
- Knowledge of REST APIs and automation frameworks.
- Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Automic certification is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 production support environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
