About the role

We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our growing product organization and own a key area within Automattic's product ecosystem. This is a foundational role where you'll have significant autonomy to shape your product area and contribute to our evolving product culture. You'll work directly with our Head of Product to define strategy, drive execution, and deliver meaningful outcomes for millions of users across our products. This isn't just about managing a roadmap—you'll be building something for scale while working alongside some of the most talented people in the industry. What You'll Do Define and execute product strategy for a core area within Automattic's portfolio. Partner closely with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. Use data, research, and market insights to make informed product decisions and measure success. Manage complex tradeoffs between user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints. Set clear goals and success metrics that align with company priorities. Quickly build trust and credibility with key stakeholders. Build and maintain roadmaps that balance short-term wins with long-term vision. Ship iteratively and learn quickly, adapting strategy based on real-world feedback. Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities clearly to stakeholders across the organization. Bring best-in-class product thinking and processes to your work and team. Share knowledge and insights that help raise the bar for product excellence across Automattic. Stay current with industry trends and practices, applying relevant learnings to our unique context. What You Bring Track record of shipping successful products at scale, with measurable impact on user outcomes, revenue growth, and business results. Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and data-driven decision making. Proven ability to work effectively with technical teams and navigate complex technical tradeoffs. Strong track record of influencing and aligning stakeholders regardless of your position within the corporate hierarchy. Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear strategies and actionable plans. Demonstrated success defining product vision and translating it into executable roadmaps. Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and making high-quality decisions with incomplete information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly to executive leadership. Natural collaborator who builds strong relationships across teams and functions. Thrives in distributed, asynchronous work environments and can drive alignment across time zones and cultures. Understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, including hosting, sitebuilding, plugins, and developer tools. Experience with Open Source communities and development practices a plus. Familiarity with web publishing, content management, or creator economy trend preferred.
