As an Automation Engineer, you will own and evolve automation frameworks, lead automation planning for significant features or releases, and act as a technical reference point for automation within your squad(s). You will mentor junior engineers, improve CI execution and gating, and ensure automation architecture aligns with application design.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve automation frameworks with a focus on maintainability and scalability.
- Design and build reusable automation libraries, utilities, and plugins.
- Lead automation planning for large features or releases, aligned to test strategy.
- Optimise test execution in CI pipelines (parallelism, stability, runtime).
- Implement and maintain quality gates in CI/CD.
- Apply SOLID principles, modular design, and testability patterns in automation code.
- Align automation architecture with application architecture; participate in design sessions.
- Mentor QA Engineers 1s and Associates in automation best practices.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, frameworks, or process improvements.
- Balance multiple priorities independently and communicate trade-offs clearly.
Requirements
- 3 - 8 years of experience in software testing and automation.
- Strong experience with automation testing tools and frameworks (e. g., WDIO, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Strong programming skills in Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with WebdriverIO or Selenium.
- Solid understanding of OOP concepts and design patterns.
- Proficiency in RESTful API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/Bitbucket.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
