About the Team The CAD team is an experienced team, with deep expertise in GIS data, CAD 3D modeling, visualization, Web UI and simulation cloud-compute engines (“CAD technologies”). The team provides CAD technologies to other teams and integrates them in several Aurora Solar products. CAD technologies generate the majority of revenue for Aurora, and directly impact the customer experience with Aurora solutions. About the Role This role is about adding expertise and leadership in the team on FullStack and Backend technologies to better integrate CAD technologies with the services and APIs of the Aurora Cloud Platform. The role touches on several technical layers: Frontend (FE), Backend (BE), CAD engines, AWS, Service Oriented Architecture, Cloud monitoring/Alerting, etc. The selected candidate is expected to promote new and creative ways to implement efficient FE-BE interfaces and libraries for processing high-volume data. Your Impact - Help deploy best practices in FE and BE software development - Enhance our Ruby-on-Rails BE application and related set of services to ease the integration of CAD technologies to the Aurora Cloud Platform - Create new FE and BE services on AWS related to CAD technologies - Maintain and create corresponding Web APIs used by strategic technical partners - Optimize / Implement efficient FE-BE interfaces and libraries for processing high-volume of data - Mentor teammates on service-oriented architecture and BE implementation - Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team, including taking part in an on-call rotation What You Bring - Working experience as a Full Stack developer - Expertise in the latest C++ - Experience with Javascript and/or Typescript - Experience with Git or other version control systems, CI/CD and Automated testing - Self-motivated, good communication skills, emphasizes team results over self, comfortable with ambiguity Nice to Haves - Proficiency with Ruby-on-Rails - Proficiency with React - Cloud monitoring services like Datadog - Data fetching framework like GraphQL - Async job framework like Sidekiq - Browser-based 3D visualization (WebGL, three.js) What We Offer - 🏖️Flexible PTO - Take the time when you need it - 🍼Parental Leave - 16 weeks with 100% base salary + gradual return to work - 💰WFH Stipend - An initial $675 CAD(Non-engineers) or $1000 CAD (Engineering roles) - 🏢 Coworking Stipend - $400 CAD / month if you prefer to be at a coworking facility near you *Please note that stipend amounts are based on USD; local currency amounts may vary with FX rate fluctuations - ☀️Energize Fridays - Company-wide days to log off and recharge - 📶Connectivity Stipend - Up to $100 CAD / month towards internet or phone - 🩺Medical, Dental, and Vision - Aurora will cover 100% of premiums for employee-only and dependent coverage of our supplemental medical, dental, and vision plans Aurora is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workforce of people who believe in and are passionate about creating a future of solar energy for all.
