We are currently looking for a

Technical Manager (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

for our headquarters in Munich:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of complex identity management projects. The Technical Manager will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure the successful end-to-end delivery of identity documents, personalization solutions, identity document management platforms, and the preparation of onsite operations for handover to local teams. The role requires deep technical expertise, hands-on leadership, and a structured, process-oriented approach to project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Project Delivery:

  • Oversee the technical implementation of identity document solutions, personalization systems, and identity management platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external technical teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.

Collaboration With Project Management

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to define technical deliverables and establish project milestones.
  • Provide regular technical status updates and contribute to project planning and risk management.
  • Support the development of detailed project plans, including resource allocation and task prioritization.

Onsite Operations Preparation

  • Lead the preparation and configuration of onsite systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop training programs and operational guidelines for local teams.
  • Conduct onsite visits to ensure system readiness and functionality before handover.

Handover To Local Operations

  • Design and execute structured handover processes for local operations teams.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and training materials are provided.
  • Support local teams during the transition phase to ensure operational stability.

Technical Coordination And Communication

  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate effective communication between development, testing, and deployment teams.
  • Coordinate with hardware suppliers, software vendors, and integration partners as needed.

Continuous Improvement And Innovation

  • Analyze project outcomes to identify areas for improvement in technical delivery.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Stay informed about advancements in identity management technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project delivery, with at least 3 years in identity management projects.
  • Proven expertise in delivering identity documents, personalization solutions, and identity management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of biometric technologies, secure document issuance, and identity verification systems.
  • Experience with system integration, infrastructure deployment, and onsite operations.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, including MS Project, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French, Arabic, Russian or German is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
