Audubon is currently seeking a Journeyman I - (Pipe Fitter/Welding) to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Journeyman I will perform skilled carpentry work involved in construction, maintenance, and repair; perform related and other work as required to maintain facilities in a safe and efficient condition.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs skilled, complex tasks such as layout, cutting, welding, brazing, and testing (hydro/pneumatic) of high-pressure piping systems.
- Measures, cuts, bending, and assembling piping in the right positioning for system placement.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
- Knowledge of pipefitter principles.
- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
- Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges inside piping system according to plans and applicable specifications.
- Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
- Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Related trade school education is preferred.
- Five years' experience in the construction industry.
- Three years' experience as a pipefitter.
- Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
- Construction safety practices.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
- Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
