Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In the software department, you will work on key components that transfer the power unit’s performance to the racetrack and contribute to competitiveness in a highly competitive environment. You will work with an agile team to implement the dynamic requirements for the software and configuration of the power unit’s systems (combustion engine, electrical components, battery and power electronics). You will support our test team on the test bench and during races. Through component and system-level testing, you will ensure the validation and continuous development of our power unit in the Audi F1 project. In addition, you will support testing on test benches and during race weekends in the OPS / Mission Control room in Neuburg.

Your Mission

  • Development of HiL models for testing battery software under conditions that are as realistic as possible
  • Creation and maintenance of automated tests for the release of battery software
  • Supporting test bench personnel in commissioning and using the developed overall battery software
  • Cross-departmental cooperation in the application of our battery software
  • Function development for the battery and, if necessary, inverter control units
  • Testing the developed control unit functions on HiL and test benches

Your Profile

  • Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar
  • Several years of experience in block-oriented development of control unit software
  • Experience in battery software development
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and in a goal-oriented manner
  • Good understanding of the electrical relationships within a high-voltage battery
  • High level of motivation and initiative
  • Business fluent German or English skills and a willingness to learn basic skills in the other language are required
