Primary location Auburn Universities Ornamental Horticuluture Research Center in Mobile Alabama with potential for varied work locations. The role offers hands-on experience in plant management, requiring physical engagement and adaptability. Candidates will gain practical experience in agricultural safety protocols, including professional pesticide handling and Worker Protection Standards compliance.
Responsibilities- Hands-on plant care: Perform potting techniques, optimize plant spacing, manage plant relocation, and ensure comprehensive plant health maintenance
- Weeding pots, beds, and production areas
- Watering plants and assisting with irrigation tasks
- Assisting with data collection and basic record keeping
- General labor, setup, and cleanup of research and production areas
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; current enrollment in or completion of coursework related to horticulture, agriculture, plant science, or a related field is preferred.
