About the role

Job Description:

As a Technical Lead at Aubrant Digital, you will own the technical success of complex technology customer engagements that combine modern application engineering with AI-accelerated capabilities. You will lead architecture and engineering decisions across services, data, and AI workloads, set engineering standards for the team, and partner with Aubrant's solution architects and client stakeholders to translate domain requirements into production-ready designs. This is a hands-on technical leadership role; you will write production code, lead architecture review, and mentor engineers across discovery, build, and rollout phases.

What qualifications make you an Aubrant Technical Lead?

  • A senior technical leader who can hold the full architecture in your head while staying close enough to the code to enforce quality and unblock the team.
  • A clear communicator who translates architectural choices, trade-offs, and risks for engineering, product, and client executive audiences.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity, capable of driving decisions in regulated environments where requirements and integration targets evolve during delivery.
  • A mentor and force multiplier who raises the team's bar through code review, architecture review, and pattern guidance.
  • Customer-obsessed and outcome-focused, balancing delivery momentum with the long-term integrity of the platforms you build.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Architecture:

  • Own the technical success of an engagement, ensuring architectural coherence and reuse across services, data, and AI components.
  • Drive technical decisions and document them as ADRs: database engine selection, service vs library boundaries, and integration patterns.
  • Lead architecture review boards and resolve cross-team design dependencies.

Engineering Delivery & Quality:

  • Set engineering standards: trunk-based development, IaC (Terraform/Bicep), CI gates, SLSA L2 provenance, OpenAPI 3.x and AsyncAPI 2.x contracts, and idempotent integration patterns.
  • Lead code and design reviews; enforce quality gates and SOC 2 control mappings (logical access, monitoring, change management, audit trail).
  • Plan and orchestrate delivery cadence, including sequencing of build and release windows for engagements with production blackout constraints.

Stakeholder Engagement & Mentorship:

  • Partner with Aubrant solution architects and client product owners to translate domain knowledge into technical designs.
  • Mentor engineers on Azure architecture, event sourcing, durable orchestration, and HITL design patterns.
  • Run agile delivery in 2-week sprints with monthly stakeholder demos, hypercare planning, and post-go-live support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience; MUST be proficient in written and spoken English (85%).
  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical lead or staff engineer capacity on multi-team delivery.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Azure architecture, including Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry, Document Intelligence, AI Search, Container Apps or AKS, API Management, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Entra ID.
  • Expert-level proficiency leading complex software delivery, including architectural design, ADR-driven decisions, event sourcing, DDD bounded contexts, and SOC 2 control mapping.
  • Strong proficiency in .NET (C#) and Python; ability to set patterns across both languages within the same engagement.
  • Hands-on experience with Medallion data architecture, RAG patterns, prompt versioning and guardrails, and human-in-the-loop workflow design.
  • Experience leading CI/CD with Azure DevOps, IaC (Terraform/Bicep), and trunk-based development with quality gates.
  • Proven experience working in financial services, professional services, or other regulated environments with strict audit and compliance requirements.
  • Strong code review, mentorship, and technical communication skills; ability to lead architecture discussions with both engineering teams and client executives.
  • Experience with durable orchestration (Azure Durable Functions or equivalent) and confidence-gated agentic workflows is a plus.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., financial, ERP, document management systems) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication, collaboration, customer orientation, innovation mindset, and adaptability under ambiguity.
