Role Description The AU Tax Executive will manage Australian tax compliance and reporting for clients, including preparing and reviewing individual, business, and corporate tax returns. This full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad involves handling BAS, GST, PAYG, and other Australian tax obligations, ensuring accurate calculations and timely lodgments. The AU Tax Executive will communicate with client firms to clarify tax positions, gather required documentation, and address queries related to Australian tax legislation. Daily responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of ATO requirements, supporting year-end processes, assisting with tax planning activities, and working with internal teams to enhance service quality and efficiency. The role also requires consistent documentation, adherence to firm processes, and contributing to continuous improvement of tax workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations, including BAS, GST, PAYG, and ATO compliance.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and review for individuals, small businesses, and corporate entities in the Australian context.
- Experience with accounting and tax software commonly used for AU clients, along with solid MS Excel and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with international clients and internal teams, and to explain tax matters clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain accuracy under pressure, and follow structured processes and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications in taxation or Australian accounting are an advantage.
- Prior experience in outsourcing, offshoring, or working with CPA and accounting firms serving Australian clients is preferred.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and continuous learning in line with changes to Australian tax legislation.
