Flatsheet Test Technician- Level II
This position is for a full-time lab technician supporting the Cookeville plant media quality lab. This technician will be one of three technicians that perform testing of media samples for production validation across three shifts. This is a 100% on-site role for the plant's 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- The quality technician plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of media products tested.
- Flatsheet Multipass test stands will be the primary test equipment utilized in this role.
- This testing is part of the continuous quality assurance and is conducted on all media system changeovers and additional lot sampling as feasible.
- Applicants must be able to execute test procedures in accordance with established standards, specifications, and work instructions.
- Technicians must record, analyze, and report test data accurately using appropriate systems and tools.
- Media lab technician will work closely with the media operators, quality engineers, and media technical team to maintain product integrity and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to equipment maintenance tasks, lab housekeeping, assisting with ILC and calibrations, and supporting corporate lab and media engineers with projects related to media testing.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have a basic mechanical aptitude and be able to assist in diagnosing issues and performing simple repairs on the equipment as needed. Must have a willingness to learn and grow in the technical understanding of the equipment.
- Must have basic computer skills including Outlook and Excel and other lab application software. Must be able to communicate effectively with email. Must be organized and meticulous, able to maintain and retrieve accurate data records.
- This position is currently to support 2nd shift operations. Weekend overtime is expected as testing must follow the production schedule.
- Must be able to work with minor supervision.
- Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc) required.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and specifications a plus.
Education
- High school diploma or GED (associate degree or technical certification preferred).
