Role Description The ATMS Control Room Officer is a full-time, on-site position based in Unnao, responsible for monitoring and managing the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) for assigned infrastructure assets. The role involves continuous observation of traffic conditions and system alerts, coordinating incident response, and ensuring timely communication with field teams and supervisors. The officer will log events, maintain accurate records, and prepare basic reports on traffic incidents, system performance, and operational issues. Daily tasks include operating ATMS software and equipment, following standard operating procedures, escalating critical issues, and supporting safe and efficient movement of traffic. The role also requires adherence to safety protocols, regular coordination with maintenance and operations staff, and proactive identification of issues in the control room systems.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate monitoring systems, traffic management software, and control room equipment with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong observation, situational awareness, and incident reporting skills, with the capacity to respond quickly to alerts and emergencies.
- Effective communication skills for coordination with field teams, supervisors, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic understanding of road safety, traffic flow, and infrastructure operations; prior experience in control room or operations environments is an advantage.
- Comfort with shift-based work schedules and the ability to remain focused in a high-attention, time-sensitive environment.
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or degree in engineering, transportation, or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers, MS Office, and data entry tools, along with the ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.
- Demonstrated reliability, ethical conduct, and commitment to safety, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
