This role supports business development and drives strategic growth of the Scientific Vacuum product portfolio across the U.S., with a primary focus on High and Ultra‑High Vacuum key accounts. The position has direct responsibility for designated sales teams, agents, and partners, and serves as a technical and commercial authority for Scientific Vacuum products in North America. The role represents Leybold, its products, and services with integrity, expands business with existing customers, and secures new customer relationships. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders is required to support sales planning, forecasting, profitability, and budget discipline, while aligning with the Scientific Vacuum Management team.
Main Responsibilities
- Own sales responsibility for all company products within an assigned account base and geographic region, with emphasis on High and Ultra‑High Vacuum solutions for Analytics, R&D, Industrial, and Coating markets
- Accountable for budget ownership and profitability across Account Managers, agents, representatives, and distributors; establish short‑term (12‑month) and long‑term (3‑year) sales goals
- Lead and manage a designated sales team, including coaching, performance management, problem resolution, and achievement of annual revenue targets
- Define and execute territory and account strategies in alignment with Business Line Managers and regional objectives
- Drive growth through new and expanded opportunities for Leybold products and services, including advanced market applications
- Partner with U.S. leadership to implement national sales strategies that increase high vacuum revenue and profitability
- Identify, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with key customers
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales effectiveness and strategic planning
- Support the launch and deployment of new products aligned with market needs
- Provide technical, application, and commercial support including product selection, quotations, terms and conditions, and contract administration
- Develop proposals for standard and custom systems in close coordination with Systems Engineering and Sales/Marketing teams
- Ensure high customer satisfaction on vacuum projects and drive timely resolution of customer issues through cross‑functional collaboration
- Participate in trade shows, seminars, training programs, and Vacuum Academy coursework
- Complete all reporting, forecasting, expense reporting, and CRM updates accurately and on time
- Maintain responsibility for company property under direct control or located at customer sites
- Perform other duties as assigned
