The Engineering Manager is the leader of the mechanical, electrical & software engineering teams responsible for creating and executing high level roadmaps and activity schedules, developing, and executing design projects that meet safety, time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction targets. The Engineering Manager reports to the General Manager, receives functional guidance from the VP, Engineering Programs and collaborates directly with Product Management. The Engineering Manager is expected to embody the Atlas Copco Core Values of Interaction, Commitment, and Innovation in all aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Engineering Strategy: Own and execute the engineering roadmap, translating business goals into clear priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Drive Project Delivery: Oversee end-to-end engineering execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and customer requirements.
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with customers, operations, and leadership to define requirements, resolve issues, and deliver practical, manufacturable solutions.
- Build & Develop Talent: Recruit, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, setting clear expectations and building strong technical and leadership capabilities.
- Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Allocate resources across projects, balance workloads, and ensure the team is focused on the highest-impact priorities.
- Own Budget & Performance: Manage engineering budgets and track key performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure Quality & Continuous Improvement: Champion engineering best practices, lead root cause problem-solving, and improve processes to enhance efficiency and product reliability.
- Manage Risk & Escalation: Proactively identify risks, drive mitigation plans, and communicate effectively with senior leadership to keep projects on track.
