About the Department

We are looking for creative, enthusiastic and service-oriented people for part-time work at the Atlantic Cape Community College libraries, at our Cape May Court House and Atlantic City branch campuses. Library aides work as a part of the academic support team to provide a wide variety of services
for Atlantic Cape students, staff and faculty.

Position Duties

This is a forward-facing job, working directly with students, staff, faculty and community visitors in person, by telephone and email. Library work includes patron registration, book circulation, shelving; assisting with the location of print materials, electronic library resources and online research databases; navigation of online courses, and use of online course resources and applications. Library aides also promote and provide information about tutoring, reference and other support services. Additional jobs may include creating documents, fliers, displays, bulletin boards; working with spreadsheets and forms, recording and entering data in spreadsheets and databases. Library staff maintain an organized and neat work area, and light housekeeping
duties are required.

with coworkers is essential. Candidates must be comfortable and capable with technology. This includes working with computers, printers, scanners and projectors as well as applications such as Microsoft Office, Google products and online meeting platforms. Familiarity with learning management systems,
particularly Blackboard, is very helpful. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move books and boxes and spend time standing and moving throughout the library.

A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or higher is preferred. Experience working in a library, school or other learning environment is a plus, as are foreign language skills.

Other Qualifications

This is a part time position requiring up to 26 hours per week.
