Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Astronomy Educator based in Guindy. The Astronomy Educator will design and deliver astronomy-focused educational programs, conduct engaging stargazing sessions, facilitate workshops for various age groups, and provide training on astronomical concepts. The role involves simplifying complex information for diverse audiences, fostering curiosity, and inspiring a passion for astronomy. The educator will also assist in creating interactive and experiential learning activities tailored to visitors' interests.
Qualifications
- Strong abilities in Lesson Planning and creating structured, engaging, and effective educational materials
- Teaching and Education skills with experience delivering content to diverse age groups
- Excellent Communication and Training skills to engage and inspire audiences effectively
- Passion for astronomy and a commitment to providing a memorable learning experience
- Ability to work in an outdoor, on-site environment and availability to work flexible hours, including evenings
- Prior experience in educational environments, tourism, or science communication is advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy, Education, or a related field preferred
