Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager – QA/QC (MEP) supports the planning, execution, and quality assurance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works in construction projects. The role ensures that all MEP installations comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while assisting in project coordination and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
QA/QC Duties
- Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for MEP works.
- Review material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
- Conduct inspections of MEP installations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection).
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Prepare Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists.
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions.
- Coordinate with consultants/clients for approvals and inspections.
Project Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling MEP activities.
- Coordinate between site engineers, subcontractors, and QA/QC teams.
- Track progress and report on quality and project milestones.
- Participate in project meetings and provide QA/QC updates.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain QA/QC documentation (inspection reports, test results, NCR logs).
- Ensure proper filing of drawings and revisions.
- Prepare daily/weekly QA/QC reports.
- Support project closeout documentation and handover.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.
- Coordinate with HSE teams for safe execution of MEP works.
- Stay updated with local codes and international standards (ASHRAE, NEC, etc.).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 5–8 years of experience in MEP QA/QC in construction projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Familiarity with QA/QC standards and procedures.
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction processes.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
- Problem-solving and attention to detail.
