Role Summary:To drive operational excellence in apparel manufacturing by optimizing production processes, ensuring maximum output, managing pre-production activities, and leading Lean initiatives. The role focuses on line balancing, cost control, incentive management, and workforce productivity.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:Production Planning & Balancing
- Execute line balancing to achieve maximum output and fix daily production targets based on line capacity.
- Monitor hourly production & bottleneck operations; take corrective actions for dynamic balancing (considering absenteeism, WIP, shipment priorities).
- Minimize factory WIP and ensure Purchase Order (PO) completion as per schedule.
Pre-Production & Style Management
- Obtain style loading schedule from Planning; execute pre-production activities as per plan.
- Prepare Operation Bulletins, Thread/Trims Consumption sheets, and Batch Layouts.
- Conduct Pre-Production Meetings; ensure effective feedback to Production.
- Ensure availability of machines, folders, attachments, and manpower for new styles.
- Review monthly style plan to ensure required machinery availability.
Training & Skill Development
- Review trainee progress and ensure multi-skill training in sewing lines.
- Conduct style analysis & training need analysis; make online training arrangements.
Wages & Incentive Systems
- Ensure wage fixations for new joiners per organizational rules.
- Maintain Incentive system (correct recording, calculation, transparency) to ensure high worker motivation.
Reporting & Cost Control
- Generate Efficiency, SAM, Cost variance, and Department-wise MMR (Monthly Management Report).
- Monitor style-wise costing and ensure budget cost is met.
Lean Culture
- Develop Lean culture by supporting Kaizen, 5S, and TLS (Toyota Production System, Lean, Six Sigma) initiatives.
Key Competencies Required:- Strong knowledge of SAM, GSD, and operation breakdown.
- Proficiency in Line Balancing, Bottleneck analysis, and Capacity planning.
- Experience with Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, TLS).
- Analytical skills for cost variance and incentive reporting.
- Leadership and cross-functional coordination.
Qualifications:- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Industrial Engineering/Textile Technology or Diploma in IE/Apparel Production.
- Experience: 8–12 years in Industrial Engineering within an apparel export/manufacturing unit
