Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Design Engineer located in Gurugram. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and development of HVAC systems with a focus on geothermal and air-source heat pump technologies. The role involves creating and reviewing technical designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software, supporting product development, collaborating with senior engineers to solve engineering challenges, and conducting technical analyses to ensure optimal system performance. This position also includes preparing documentation and assisting with the implementation of tailored engineering solutions for clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop 2D CAD drawings for HVAC layouts, ducting, and mechanical systems
- Perform duct sizing and layout design based on load calculations and best practices
- Assist with pump sizing and selection for hydronic and geothermal systems
- Design and layout radiant heating/cooling systems (floor, wall, and slab applications)
- Support preparation of submittals, equipment schedules, and design documentation
- Collaborate with sales engineers to convert estimates into final design packages
- Review project plans, specifications, and field data for design accuracy
- Assist in optimizing designs for efficiency, cost, and constructability
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in HVAC design or mechanical drafting (preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus)
- Basic understanding of:
- HVAC systems and duct design principles
- Hydronic systems and pump sizing
- Radiant heating/cooling design concepts
- Familiarity with load calculation tools (e.g., CoolCalc, Manual J) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
