Role Description The Associate Team Lead – Laytime is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mohali district. This role is responsible for laytime calculations, negotiation, demurrage Despatch settlements, keeping accurate records for reporting and ensures that all calculations comply with charter party terms and internal policies. The position works closely with trading, logistics, operations, execution, contract and finance teams.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience in laytime calculation, demurrage/dispatch handling, or maritime logistics (dry bulk or liquid commodities preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools; familiarity with ERP or trade management systems is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to interpret contracts, charter parties, and commercial terms clearly and accurately.
- Proven ability to coordinate tasks within a team environment, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-oriented setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Finance, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on collaboration, service mindset, and continuous process improvement.
- Comfort working with global teams and time zones; prior experience in agribusiness, commodities, or shipping operations is beneficial.
