What We Value
We are a diverse team of free thinkers, and fast movers united to help investors and creators energize the global economy. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a culture of builders and overachievers and embrace high performance, transparent feedback, and a mission-first approach. Our culture shapes our way of working and gets us where we want to be.
- Seek Excellence.
- Be Selective To Be Effective.
- Be Highly Aligned, Loosely Coupled.
- Disagree Transparently.
- Encourage Independent Decision-Making.
- Build Dream Teams.
About The Role
We're hiring Senior and Staff SDETs to embed across our product teams and raise the bar for quality engineering at Galaxy. You'll work on systems that move real value — crypto and fiat across institutional-grade platforms. The problems are complex, the stakes are high, and the teams are small enough that your work will have outsized impact.
This isn't a "write tests and throw them over the wall" role. You'll shape how your team thinks about quality — designing automation strategies, influencing architecture for testability, and driving reliability across the stack. Depending on your strengths and interests, you'll be placed on one of our product teams: Lending, Trading, Operations, Custody, Settlement, Staking, Derivatives, or Retail (mobile apps on Android and iOS).
We're looking for excellent engineers first — we'll find the right seat together.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and suites for APIs, backend services, web and mobile UI (Android/iOS), and blockchain-integrated components.
- Define and drive the quality strategy for your product team — test planning, coverage analysis, risk assessment, and release readiness.
- Partner closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers to shift quality left and influence system design for testability.
- Analyze test results, production incidents, and system behavior to identify patterns and drive systemic improvements.
- Build and maintain CI/CD-integrated test pipelines that give teams fast, reliable feedback.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test creation, code analysis, and automation workflows.
- Contribute to performance testing, security validation, and observability practices.
- Mentor other engineers on testing practices, code quality, and automation design.
Additionally At Staff Level
- Set technical direction for quality engineering across multiple teams or domains.
- Drive cross-team alignment on testing standards, frameworks, and tooling.
- Identify high-impact quality problems before they're obvious and build consensus around solutions.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to engineering leadership.
What You Bring
Required
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or software development in test, with meaningful ownership of automation strategy and execution.
- Strong programming skills in Python (primary) or similar (JavaScript, Java, Go).
- Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, Postman/Newman).
- Deep understanding of API testing, microservices architectures, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Git, GitHub workflows, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI), and issue tracking (JIRA).
- Strong debugging and analytical skills — comfortable with logs, metrics, and traces (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience working in Agile environments with close collaboration across engineering and product.
- Clear, proactive communication — you surface risks, share context, and keep people aligned.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., LLM-based coding assistants) to accelerate engineering work, with an eagerness to push those practices further.
Preferred
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or digital assets / crypto.
- Familiarity with blockchain APIs, wallets, smart contracts, or on-chain data.
- Experience with Web3 testing tools (Hardhat, Brownie, Foundry).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Knowledge of contract testing (Pact), test data management, or service virtualization.
- Performance or security testing experience (Locust, k6, OWASP).
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team capabilities.
- Experience building, testing, or working with AI agents and agentic workflows.
Why Galaxy
- Work across institutional crypto infrastructure — trading, lending, custody, staking, derivatives, and more.
- An AI-forward engineering culture — we invest in tools and practices that multiply what engineers can do.
- Small teams, real ownership, and direct impact on systems that matter.
- A culture that values engineering excellence, trust, and accountability.
- Competitive compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
- Mumbai office with flexibility for remote work within India.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary and discretionary bonus
- Company-paid health and protective benefits for employees and their eligible dependents
- Free virtual coaching and counseling sessions
- Opportunities to learn about the Crypto industry
