About Water and Shark (WS)
Water & Shark is a globally positioned professional services network delivering integrated legal, tax, corporate, and strategic advisory solutions across key international jurisdictions. As part of a WS continued expansion into global policy and macroeconomic advisory, WS is strengthening our in-house research capability to support cross-border mandates, geopolitical assessments, and international trade strategy.
Position Overview
WS is seeking an exceptionally driven and academically accomplished International Policy Research Associate to contribute to high-level research in macroeconomic trade policy, global diplomacy, tariff frameworks, and strategic economic relations.
The ideal candidate will combine academic depth with real-world policy awareness and demonstrate the ability to translate complex global economic developments into structured, actionable insights for senior leadership and international stakeholders.
Position Title: International Policy Research Associate
Division: Global Policy, Trade & Strategic Advisory
Location: Ahmedabad, India
Professional Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in macroeconomic research, international policy analysis, or related analytical roles.
Salary : 3.75-4.25 Lacs CTC P.A.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct macroeconomic analysis on global trade systems, tariff regulations, and international economic governance frameworks
- Develop strategic reports on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), regulatory shifts, and geopolitical developments
- Monitor and interpret global economic indicators including GDP trends, inflation cycles, currency movements, and trade balances
- Assess the impact of tariffs, sanctions, and diplomatic negotiations on cross-border business operations
- Prepare policy briefs, whitepapers, executive summaries, and intelligence reports
- Perform comparative economic and jurisdictional competitiveness analysis
- Contribute to Water & Sharks thought leadership and global research publications
- Support international advisory mandates with geopolitical and macroeconomic risk assessments
Academic & Professional Qualifications (Mandatory)
Candidates must possess a strong postgraduate academic background in fields aligned with international policy and economics. Preferred qualifications include:
- MBA in Public Policy / International Trade / Economics
- MA / MSc in Economics
- MA in International Relations / Global Affairs
- MA in Politics / Political Science
- Or equivalent postgraduate specialization in macroeconomics, trade diplomacy, or geopolitical strategy
- Exposure to WTO frameworks, international trade law, econometrics, or geopolitical advisory will be a strong advantage.
