PURPOSE
You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside program and project managers in delivering a host of innovative solutions that meet the needs of our diverse customer base. You derive energy from working with others of diverse backgrounds and engaging directly with customers.
What Will You Do
This role offers a range of responsibilities and possibilities:
- Managing independent projects - Project sizes will vary and may be part of a program. You will manage the project throughout its life cycle - from qualification stage through project closure. Attention to detail time management and influencing people skills are key ingredients to be successful in managing projects.
- Working with Program and/or Project Managers - There will be times when you will be assigned to assist a program or project manager by managing sub-projects or key task elements. With each assignment you report regularly on the progress and manage each assignment through its completion.
- Working with project teams - Every project is completed through team effort. You can work effectively with teammates that may be local or distant. You host meetings as needed to gather and share project details. Your ability to help drive activities through others to meet the project timelines and goals are key for driving project success.
- Working with customers - When working with program or project managers you help fulfill the project commitments to our customers as assigned. There will be times when you will be in front of the customer clarifying requirements communicating on project status or interacting with customer work teams on project activities.
- Project Management administration - Your ability to write clearly and simply are key skills to documenting project activities. Documentation can range from requirement summaries resource and project plans status reports change requests risks issues and variance reports to lessons learned. Accuracy is the key to all documentation.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- Ideally you have a track record in Project Management managing one or more projects from inception through to closure within a commercial environment.
- Optimally you have experience with an IT solutions or airline industry solutions provider and are ready to hit the ground running.
Knowledge & Skills
- Project Planning & Strategy:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and budget for IPS SBDs and E-Gates implementation projects.
- Define and establish clear project milestones, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and customer expectations.
- Identify and secure necessary resources, including mechanical, electrical, and IT engineering teams, and external vendors.
- Technical Project Execution & Oversight:
- Oversee the technical implementation lifecycle, from installation prerequisites to final commissioning of IPS SBDs and E-Gates.
- Coordinate and manage the activities of multidisciplinary technical teams (Mechanical & Electrical, IT Systems Administration) to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
- Ensure that all technical solutions are developed and delivered according to established functional specifications and architectural designs.
- Facilitate technical problem-solving and decision-making, addressing complex integration challenges between IPS SBDs, E-Gates, and existing airport systems (e.g., BHS, airport IT infrastructure).
- Plan and manage the logistics and delivery of all necessary hardware components to the project site.
- Customer Relationship & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the project, managing expectations and fostering a collaborative relationship.
- Conduct regular project meetings with customers to provide status updates, discuss progress, address concerns, and gather feedback.
- Manage customer requirements, ensuring they are accurately captured, documented, and translated into technical deliverables.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between technical teams, internal stakeholders, and the customer.
- Lead the definition and implementation of system interfaces with customer teams, ensuring mutual understanding and successful integration.
- Risk & Issue Management:
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks (technical, operational, customer-related) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish clear processes for tracking, managing, and escalating issues that could impact project schedule, budget, or quality.
- Develop contingency plans and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure accountability of team members.
- Support technical teams in optimizing their installation, configuration, and testing processes.
- Ensure comprehensive training is provided to relevant stakeholders (customer operations, maintenance teams) on the newly implemented systems.
- Quality Assurance & Handover:
- Plan and facilitate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) inspections with relevant stakeholders to ensure systems meet specifications prior to site delivery.
- Ensure all project deliverables, including technical documentation, meet required quality standards and functional outcomes.
- Oversee system testing, commissioning, and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases to ensure the solution meets all specifications.
- Manage the formal handover process to the customer, including documentation, training, and support agreements.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, risk logs, issue logs, and change requests.
- Provide regular, accurate, and transparent project status reports to all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and consolidate all necessary handover documents for formal transfer of the system to the customer's delivery/operations team.
- Travel Requirement:
- Frequent travel to airport locations is required to oversee on-site deployments, manage customer interactions, and address project-specific challenges.

Education & Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Formal project management training and certification - PMP desired but not mandatory
