Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate Professor of Computer Science based at the Kanpur campus. The Associate Professor will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer science and related areas, design and update curricula, prepare lecture materials, and conduct assessments. The role includes supervising student projects and theses, mentoring learners, and providing academic guidance. The Associate Professor will engage in research and scholarly activities, publish in reputable journals or conferences, and contribute to the development of funded research proposals. Responsibilities also include participating in departmental and university committees, collaborating with industry and academic partners, contributing to accreditation and quality assurance processes, and supporting outreach and extension activities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science with the ability to teach core theoretical and applied subjects.
- Expertise in Programming (such as Python, Java, C/C++, or similar languages) and experience guiding students in coding practices and software development projects.
- Specialization or demonstrated competence in Data Science, including data analysis, machine learning, or related computational methods.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity principles and practices, with the ability to integrate security concepts into teaching and research.
- Experience in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, assessments, and incorporating industry-relevant content.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Evidence of quality research output, such as peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or funded projects.
- Prior teaching experience at the university level, with a record of effective classroom instruction and student engagement.
- Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills, with an inclusive, student-centered teaching approach.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to departmental initiatives, and support institutional development goals.
