Role Description The Associate Principal Engineer C++ Firmware role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru South. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining embedded firmware in C++ for complex hardware platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing and optimizing low-level software components, reviewing code for quality and performance, and debugging firmware issues on target hardware. The position also involves contributing to architecture decisions, writing technical documentation, supporting integration and system testing, and mentoring other engineers on best practices in firmware development.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in C++ firmware development for embedded systems, including memory management, real-time constraints, and hardware-software interfacing.
- Experience with microcontrollers or SoCs, embedded operating systems or RTOS, and tools such as debuggers, emulators, and version control systems.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, code optimization, unit testing, and continuous integration workflows.
- Ability to analyze hardware schematics, collaborate effectively with hardware and QA teams, and troubleshoot issues across the full stack.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams, driving technical decisions, and owning complex features or modules is highly beneficial.
- Background in product development for industrial, consumer, or telecommunications devices, and familiarity with safety, compliance, or security standards is a plus.
