Associate – Organization Development
About Ahvaan: Established in 2010, Ahvaan is a pioneer in early childhood education, and foundational learning in India. The organization comprises Ahvaan Trust (AT), a public charitable trust and the Ahvaan Education Foundation (AEF) , a section 8 company, with a unified vision of creating a strong academic and values-based foundation for millions of learners in India.
Ahvaan's work spans curriculum development, professional development for educators, parent
engagement and building state capacities- driving access to high quality early education for
children from underserved communities. Over the years, Ahvaan has collaborated with state
governments and partner organizations in Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Ladakh and Tripura, impacting
over 300,000 students aged 3 to 8 years. We have mentored over 14,000 teachers representing
15,700 government primary schools and Anganwadi centers across these states.
Ahvaan has been a trusted partner to state agencies for policy formation and implementation in
the areas of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy
(FLN). Our approach to ECCE and FLN aligns with key policies such as National Education Policy
(NEP) 2020, the National Early Childhood Care and Education Policy 2013, and initiatives such as
NIPUN Bharat, focusing on skill-based, developmentally appropriate, and contextually relevant
learning.

About the role: This role works closely with the CEO to strengthen organizational effectiveness across functions. It is designed as a high-trust, high-responsibility position that combines strategic support with systems-building. The Associate – Organization Development will play a central role in ensuring
that the organization runs smoothly, with clear priorities and strong coordination across teams as Ahvaan grows in scale. While the role provides direct support to the CEO, its scope extends beyond individual support to strengthen organizational systems, internal communication, and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, strengthen, and run core organizational systems and operating rhythms across
programmatic and operational functions.
• Support the CEO in priority management, including preparation of briefs, progress updates,
decision inputs, and follow-ups.
• Draft and review high-stakes internal and external communication on behalf of the CEO and
leadership.
• Drive cross-functional coordination, ensuring alignment, clarity of roles, and timely
execution across projects
• Lead end-to-end coordination of Board Meetings including scheduling, preparation, and
documentation.
• Maintain and strengthen institutional records and compliance documentation in an
organized and accessible manner.
• Translate strategy into actionable internal communication, enabling teams to understand
priorities and direction, ensure consistency in tone, clarity, and messaging across all
organizational communication.
• Ensure readiness for key meetings, reviews, and external engagements, anticipating
requirements in advance.
• Lead and execute cross-functional strategic initiatives over time, with increasing ownership
and independence.
Growth prospects: This role is designed to evolve with both the individual and the organization, with a pathway to a Senior Associate position over time. Depending on strengths and interests, the role can deepen across programmatic work (design, partnerships, field engagement) or organizational
development (systems, strategy execution, governance). You will gain close exposure to senior
leadership, decision-making, and complex, cross-functional work, building a strong foundation
for long-term leadership in the social impact sector.
Remuneration: Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and in line with organizational norms. This is a fixed-term contract role.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline required (Public Policy, Management, Communications,
or related fields preferred)
• Master’s degree (MBA, MPP, MA, or equivalent) is an advantage but not mandatory
• 2–5 years of relevant work experience in consulting, startups, nonprofits, public systems, or
similar environments
• Prior experience working with or supporting senior leadership is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, structured
documents, including appropriate and ethical use of AI tools
• Ability to work across functions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, ability to manage
multiple priorities and work under tight timelines
• Familiarity with organizational processes, documentation, or coordination roles is an
advantage
• Fluency in English and Hindi; additional languages are an advantage
