Role Purpose:
As an SEO Content Strategist, you’ll play a central role in shaping how millions of users discover and engage with our brands online. You’ll be responsible for developing, localizing, and optimizing high-performing content that drives organic growth across Carrefour, Hypermax, and SAVA’s eCommerce and retail platforms in over eight countries.
You’ll combine keyword research, content planning, and editorial excellence to create content that ranks, converts, and reflects each brand’s tone and local culture.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop and maintain SEO content strategies for key categories, campaigns, and seasonal promotions.
- Conduct keyword and topic research to identify high-impact opportunities for traffic and conversion growth.
- Build and manage content calendars aligned with marketing and merchandising priorities.
- Collaborate with regional SEO and marketing teams to ensure localized content relevance.
2. Content Creation & Optimization
- Write and edit SEO briefs for product pages, category pages, and editorial articles.
- Review and optimize existing content for on-page SEO (metadata, internal linking, keyword integration, structure).
- Partner with translators or local copywriters to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural resonance.
- Maintain brand voice, tone, and editorial consistency across regions and platforms.
3. Performance Management
- Track and report content performance metrics (rankings, CTR, traffic, engagement, conversions).
- Regularly audit and refresh underperforming content based on data insights.
- Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to understand the impact of content on commercial KPIs.
- Recommend new content formats and opportunities (guides, comparisons, blog series, etc.).
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with UX, design, and product teams to ensure content supports usability and conversion.
- Partner with digital PR / outreach teams to develop linkable assets and campaigns.
- Align closely with regional SEO managers on category priorities and launch timelines.
- Support localization efforts for new market entries or campaigns.

- Familiarity with Structured Data & Internal Linking Best Practices
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in SEO content strategy, editorial, or digital copywriting, ideally in retail or eCommerce.
- Proven success driving organic visibility through content.
- Strong command of on-page SEO principles (keyword mapping, metadata, internal linking).
- Experience using SEO and analytics tools (Semrush, Ahrefs, GSC, GA4, Looker Studio).
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in English.
Preferred:
- Experience working in multilingual or multicultural markets (Arabic, French, Eastern European, or Asian languages).
- Familiarity with eCommerce CMS platforms (Magento, Adobe Experience Manager, Shopify, etc.).
- Understanding of content performance measurement and CRO principles.
- Ability to manage freelancers, translators, or agency partners.
