Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Provide safety training to all employees and contractors, emphasizing best practices and emergency procedures
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation to meet legal requirements and internal standards
- Collaborate with management to address safety concerns, develop improvement plans, and monitor their implementation
- Participate in safety audits and liaise with external safety regulators as required
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve safety standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification
- 8+ years of experience in Coal Mining industry
