About the Company:
NKSquared is an investment firm led by Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of India’s largest stock-brokering firm, Zerodha, focused on growth to pre-IPO stage investments with a cheque size varying between $5 million to $30 million.
While we maintain a sector-agnostic approach, our focus areas include consumer, AI, energy transition and media, and are open to strategic partnerships where relevant. We have previously backed sector-defining companies such as Ather, Nothing and BlueStone, among others and are committed to expanding our portfolio further through attractive commercial opportunities. Our focus is on flight-tested companies with a clear roadmap to profitability and an ambitious expansion plan.
About the role:
This is primarily an execution and financial-research role. The associate will spend the majority of their time on sourcing, diligence, modelling, and transaction execution and thesis development and M&A for WTF.
We are looking to hire an Associate in the Investments team. The role offers comprehensive exposure across Thesis Development, Deal Sourcing, Evaluation, Transaction Structuring, Portfolio Management, and Corporate Development.
Ideal candidates:
- Professionals from Investment Banking (execution-focused: M&A, ECM/DCM), or Investing (VC/PE deal execution) and strategy consulting
- Demonstrated comfort with high-ownership execution work -> data rooms, redlines, closing mechanics, not only analysis and memo-writing
What we’re looking for:
Skills:
- Deal documentation exposure: term sheets, SHA/SSA, redlines, condition-precedent tracking
- Data room management and end-to-end closing-process ownership
- Comparable company and precedent transaction analysis
- Direct working experience coordinating with external counsel, bankers, and auditors
- Financial and commercial analysis, corporate finance, modeling, market research, first-principles thinking, articulation and thesis development
- Experience: 4-6 years
What we look for beyond the resume:
- Ownership of workstreams end-to-end, including closing them out
- Independent research and context-building before raising questions upward
- Direct ownership of counterparty and founder relationships
- Composure under short-notice, high-pressure asks
- Openness to direct, critical feedback
- Sound judgment in external-facing situations
Key Responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Own transaction execution end-to-end, including data room management, closing checklist/CP tracking, and direct coordination with counsel and counterparties.
- Source, identify, and evaluate potential investment opportunities
- Contribute to due diligence and prepare detailed investment memos
- Conduct market and industry research to support thesis development
- Support post-investment monitoring, including portfolio performance
