Role Overview:
The Associate will support the Investment Team by ensuring the accuracy, quality, and upkeep of the data and files the team relies on daily. This includes maintaining Excel tracking workbooks, cleaning and reconciling data from exchange and regulatory filing sources, and preparing materials for the firm's recurring portfolio review meetings. The role also involves supporting research across sectors and companies, along with other ad hoc responsibilities as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Preparation and Maintenance:
- Maintain master workbooks, including stock trackers, rating trackers, portfolio and watchlist files, and F&O reference tables.
- Populate and reconcile monthly performance data, such as price movements, returns, and month-on-month changes, across all companies under coverage.
Meeting and Discussions Support:
- Prepare and update Excel and PowerPoint materials for the firm's periodic portfolio review meetings.
- Refresh recurring review decks by updating prices, performance tables, charts, and conditional formatting across company slides.
- Compile results-season data by extracting quarterly figures from filings into the team's standard tracking formats.
- Assist Partners with research on sectors, companies, and related areas.
- Handle ad hoc data requests from analysts, including screens, comparable tables, and historical data pulls.
What We're Looking For
- A graduate with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, economics, engineering, statistics, or a relevant field.
- Strong PowerPoint skills and an excellent command of written and spoken English, essential for preparing quarterly updates.
- Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data validation, with the ability to work confidently across large, multi-sheet workbooks.
- A high level of attention to detail; this role is fundamentally about accuracy, consistency, and identifying errors early.
- A well-organised, accountable, and reliable approach, with the ability to run recurring processes on schedule and without prompting.
- An understanding of financial markets and financial statements.
