Role Summary:
The India Infrastructure & Sustainable Energies portfolio currently stands at approximately C$ 4.5 billion, with an ambition to grow aggressively over the next five years. This trajectory creates a strong pipeline of investment opportunities, robust deal flow, and exposure to transactions of significant scale and strategic importance.
As an Associate, you will be responsible for conducting fundamental investment research, assisting in building recommendations, implementing fundamental investments strategies, and monitoring and managing portfolio investments. You may also support the identification, scoping, and implementation of value creation opportunities by conducting research, analysis, and preparing presentations.
Accountabilities & Qualifications:
Core Accountabilities
Analyze and Execute Investment Opportunities
- Research, analyze, and evaluate investment opportunities in the Infra & SEG sector.
- Assist in developing strategies for new sectors within Infra & SEG.
- Perform financial analysis, valuation (DCF, precedent transactions, comps), and build dynamic financial models.
- Support due diligence processes, including engaging third-party advisors and reviewing diligence reports.
- Draft investment recommendation memorandums and assist in presenting to Investment Committees.
- Coordinate closing activities internally and externally.
- Build and leverage relationships with industry participants and management teams.
Monitor Investment Portfolio
- Participate in discussions with management teams and internal groups to monitor performance.
- Identify and help implement performance improvement initiatives (e.g., refinancing, restructuring).
- Assist in preparing materials for asset monitoring sessions and year-end valuations.
- Track market and regulatory developments impacting investments.
- Strengthen relationships with portfolio company management and co-investors.
Core Qualifications (Education And Experience)
- Postgraduate degree (MBA from a leading institution) or CA / CFA with a relevant undergraduate degree.
- 4–6 years of experience in Investment Banking/M&A, preferably in India.
- Exposure to Infrastructure or Sustainable Energies sector preferred.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage evolving priorities and thrive in a high-performance culture.
