Role Description
Job Title: Data Analyst – APAC Shift
Location: APAC Region (Shift-based Role)
Department: Investment Operations / Data Services
Reports To: Team Leader / Data Services Manager
Role Summary
As a
Data Analyst in the
APAC shift, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining high-quality reference, pricing, index, and valuation data to support portfolio management and client reporting. The role includes daily operations, exception handling, automation maintenance, and collaboration with global teams. You will also contribute to projects, process improvements, and support regulatory and fair value pricing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with global teams and partners during handovers and resolve data-related queries.
- Monitor team mailboxes and resolve data requests using case management tools.
- Oversee daily data feeds, pricing inputs (manual and automated), and exception reporting.
- Recalculate Private Equity valuations in response to corporate actions or market events.
- Maintain and update pricing and valuation data, including regulatory fair value levels (e.g., IFRS classifications).
- Perform data setup and quality checks across instruments, pricing, and indices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated processes and "robots" used by the team.
- Support system changes, automation tools, UAT testing, and data-centric projects.
- Coordinate client valuation data and work with vendors to resolve pricing and data issues.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows.
Must Have Skills And Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of Securities data (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives), pricing, and index data.
- Basic understanding of OTC derivative products and valuation methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of Corporate Action Event pricing.
- Excellent PC skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with global stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability with high attention to detail.
- Further education in Finance (e.g., IOC, IMC) or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive under pressure.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support APAC operations.
Good To Have Skills And Experience
- University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- Experience in an asset management or financial services data operations role.
- Experience with Aladdin, S&P Markit EDM, T24.
- Experience using data vendors: Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon & Datascope, ICE.
- Advanced Excel skills: formulas, macros, VBA, Power Query, SQL.
- Experience modelling OTC instruments using 3rd-party tools.
- Involvement in data-focused projects or system implementation.
- Experience maintaining or configuring Xceptor; Xceptor Practitioner Certification preferred.
